Lusso at Greenbelt 5

Last night I had dinner with friends at Lusso. It was my first time at that restaurant... Quite fancy. But the prices were reasonable because it was all worth to have a happy tummy. To name some, we had the Mediterranean Vegetable sandwich, Foie Gras Burger, Pecorino Cheesecake, Asiago Fries and etc. I really don't know how to describe it but eating at Lusso is quite an experience because the food is superb and the service is very good. Here's a few snaps...

Cupcakes: Dulciola by Valerie

Seeing the photos of the cupcakes immediately got me into a holiday craving. "Darn it! I must try this", I said to myself. So I sent a message online to ate Valerie to order some sweet goodies to make us all happy. Indulgence indeed.
I ordered Danilo's Chocolate Hazelnut Cupcake (stuffed with Nutella topped with green tea buttercream and sesame seeds), Iluminada's Banana Cupcake (stuffed with crispy peanut butter topped with chocolate ganache and caramelized banana), and Lolita's Blueberry Cupcake (topped with homemade cheesecake)
The Blueberry Cheesecake

Every cupcake was freshly baked to perfection, From the cupcake itself to the filling and the frosting. Each flavor and their match compliments the other and vice versa. Ate Valerie's choice of flavors are quite excellent. I just have something to say about the Blueberry cupcake though... As shown in the photo, the topping and the cupcake seems like they have different worlds (also as of eating them will be in separate ways), but I was told that the original one was with the blueberry as the filling and the cheesecake as the topping. It's okay, we can always get it customized anyway. But I must say, these cuppies are good! Visit http://dulciola.blogspot.com/ for complete menu and price list.

ManilArt 2011

ManilArt 2011 3rd Philippine International Art Fair was held at NBC tent last Aug 24-27. Different artworks done by several local artists were displayed at different booths of the galleries. I love seeing an exhibit in such a big event. The vibe is just so inviting knowing that different artworks come as one, there's so much creative ideas everywhere. The event went great and the artworks are beautiful. I must say, i also love supporting our own and we should promote our local artists, now that we move in the industry internationally and respectably good. Well done everyone. Amazing event!

Topsy Turvy Calaverita

Okay, here goes. I had a few days with international artists Amanda Visell, Michelle Valigura, Carlos East (half of The Beast Brothers, too bad Ernesto couldn't join) and Nichole "The Baroness" East (Calos' other half). They went here in Manila because they did a collaboration with us, Secret Fresh Gallery. Topsy Turvy Croc by Amanda Visell and the Calaverita by The Beast Brothers. Of course I showed them around and so we toured a few places Manila such as Manila's China Town (Binondo), The Chinese Cemetery (because Nichole has a thing with cemeteries hehe), a few malls etc... We didn't really do and see much because we didn't have enough time and their days are packed! Well, I, most especially them, wanted to see more of Manila and the rest of the PI but time didn't permit us. SO... We just had the best we could to have a good time. I'm sure next time they visit there'll be more of what we could offer. Until next time guys! And oh! Thanks for the artworks! :)

Middle Eastern Food is LOVE!

Okay, so I got to travel through four countries for my last hurrah this summer... I went to Jordan, Israel, Egypt and Dubai/Abu Dhabi. What I love the most there, well, the FOOD of course! They may differ in some of the dishes but they all have many in common, like let's say, the pita bread and the falafel, hummus, lamb meat, kebabs, shawarma to name some. Notice on most of my photos there are always pita bread on my plate. I just love them! Especially when it's hot and spreaded with butter. Oh well, here's some snaps of what I ate. Hehe take a peek:
