The Getty

The J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Center in Los Angeles houses European paintings, drawings, sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, decorative arts, and European and American photographs.

The J. Paul Getty Museum seeks to further knowledge of the visual arts and to nurture critical seeing by collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting works of art of the highest quality. The Museum continues to develop its collection through purchase and gifts, complementing its impact through special exhibitions, publications, educational programs developed for a wide range of audiences, and a related performing arts program. The Museum strives to provide its visitors with access to the most innovative research in the visual arts while they enjoy a unique experience in viewing works of art at our Getty Center and Getty Villa sites.

I can honestly say there is no institution like the Getty with its four distinct yet complimentary programs - the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Getty Research Institute, the Getty Conservation Institute, and the Getty Foundation. The Getty's great promise is that, by leveraging the strengths of each program to the advantage of all, the experience and knowledge of the world's artistic legacy - and its preservation for generations to come - will be enhanced for the benefit of the world.

Check out their website to learn more about the Getty and here are some few photos of the Getty Center and a few of their exhibitions and, the Getty Villa in Malibu for your eyes...

Move, Eat and Learn

These three videos are very inspiring and might keep your fire burning... For the love of travel...
3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage... All to turn 3 ambitious concepts based on movement, learning and food ....into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films.....

= a trip of a lifetime.

ManilArt 2011

ManilArt 2011 3rd Philippine International Art Fair was held at NBC tent last Aug 24-27. Different artworks done by several local artists were displayed at different booths of the galleries. I love seeing an exhibit in such a big event. The vibe is just so inviting knowing that different artworks come as one, there's so much creative ideas everywhere. The event went great and the artworks are beautiful. I must say, i also love supporting our own and we should promote our local artists, now that we move in the industry internationally and respectably good. Well done everyone. Amazing event!
